Quintessential Americano
I am always on the lookout for really cool accessories to add to my wardrobe—you know—those signature items that can make your outfit pop. So, when I saw the Mainsail Shackle Sailors Belt from Land’s End Canvas, I knew that it had to be mine. I have never seen a belt like this before, it was unique, creative, and it looked pretty damn good.
Besides its rope-braid design, I must say, using an authentic main sail shackle as buckle is what made this belt awesome. The shackle gave it character, allowing it to stand out from other belts. And what’s even more interesting, the belt is lightweight, so I did not feel as if I was “sinking”—get it? Sinking, boat—never mind. Anyhow, this is a really great belt; Land’s End Canvas never fails to amaze me with the stuff they create.

For the most part, everyone knows that I love Asian fashion, hell I even dedicated a post to it. Anyhow, when I saw these three stylish individuals I knew that they had to be featured on my blog.

Candid Style: Davis (Broadway, NYC)
Davis’ outfit is one of my favorites. I loved how he played with the dimensions of his clothes. I usually see people wearing loose-fitting tops and slimmer pants, but I liked that Davis switched it, not many people can pull it off.

Store Spotlight: Miinto
After Cladmen closed its online doors for good a few months ago, I have been in search of a new online shopping hotspot, to fill the fashion hole Cladmen left behind. I came across Miinto last week and I have been hooked ever since. Established in 2009 in Copenhagen, Denmark by Konrad Kierklo and Mike Radoor, Miinto has made a name for itself in the realm of international fashion retail among both men and women. What I love about the company is the vast selection of brands from all spectrums of fashion—you can find Adriano Goldschmied jeans and Nike polo shirts in the same place.
In addition, you are exposed to other brands from around the world, some of which you may have never heard of. And as a man of style, being exposed to brands not only broadens my wardrobe, but also my fashion inspiration. I highly recommend to everyone Miinto and I am sure that you will fall in love with it as I did.

SHIELD, The Brand Made for Men
Let’s be honest, our face is an important attribute to our overall appearance. So, why not take care of it? Okay, that was a stupid question; of course we take care of our face—well at least I think we do. The problem is finding the right product. With so many “facial stuff” out there, it is hard trying to figure out the best thing to use. I cannot tell you how much time I spent in aisle 5 of Walgreens, trying to grasp the concepts of a facial toner, facial cleanser, facial scrub, and facial wash cream.
Recently, I was introduced to SHIELD, a brand dedicated to providing men with the best natural/organic grooming products to tackle concerns that many of us face, from razor bumps to acne. At first I was skeptical because I heard the whole spew: “this product can do wonders, etc.” countless times before, but when I started using it, I knew that I found a winner.
The facial wash actually cleans your face, which surprised me because I have used many products that claimed to be “deep cleaning,” when it was not. There was no weird oily/greasy feeling when I touched my face after washing it. Instead, my face felt purified. As for the moisturizer, it is so light that I forgot I had anything on my face. I went to sleep feeling refreshed and woke up feeling even better. However, the moisturizer does have a sort of minty smell to it, which snuck up on me, but after a few minutes it went away.
It has been almost 2 weeks since using the product and I have noticed that my face feels much smoother and it does not get dry as it used to. And as for acne, it does a great job at controlling blackheads and it keeps my breakouts at bay—I hope I did not jinx it. Anyhow, I definitely recommend SHIELD. Not only are the products simple to use, but they are effective.

Candid Style: Logan and Terrence (Greenwich, NYC)
I met Terrence and Logan while walking through Greenwich Village and I was attracted to their attire. Logan’s use of the denim jacket in his outfit really brought it all together. It highlighted his undershirts and pant, which in-turn drew attention to his boots. And I loved Terrence’s classic look, it reminded me of European style.

From the moment I saw Andy, I knew that I had to put him on my blog. His trench coat was amazing. And the way he wore it–with confidence and suave–made the coat look even better. I have always been a fan of trench coats and I like to see men wearing them because it exudes sophistication and elegance. Not to mention, it can add that extra something to almost any outfit.
