Watches are a staple piece for every man of style; they fill that blank space between the break of your shirt, sweater, or jacket and your hand. Think about it. Have you ever forgotten your watch at home and felt as if your look was incomplete? Exactly, watches close that accessory void.
Since I don’t wear many accessories, if any, I am always on the lookout for new watches that I can use to accessorize my outfits. But, I love watches with a story. You know, a timepiece that brings something more than just a simple ‘face.’ So, when I came across the brand REC, I was instantly intrigued.
I fell in love with REC after reading about how the watches are created. The timepieces are made from the wrecks of vintage iconic cars—which is also the story behind the brand’s name—such as the original Mini Cooper. So, you’re technically wearing a car, not to mention a piece of ‘history,’ on your wrist. How cool is that?
Christian Mygh and Jonathan Kamstrup, who wanted to showcase how watches have evolved from simple timekeepers to important accessories that express one’s identity and style, created the Danish brand in 2013.
Taking a minimalist design approach, these timepieces add a smart and refined look to any outfit by delivering strapping style with a classic-cool manner. What’s even more interesting about REC is that no two watches are alike. Since the timepieces are crafted from the metals of vintage cars, imperfections such as rust add a unique characteristic to each watch.
As men of style, we need timepieces that elevate our wrist game with sleek sophistication. We need watches with a timeless appeal that puts an of-the-moment spin on casual charm. REC watches does just that. This brand delivers off-the-grid style and defines classic minimalism.
