Believe it or not sandals were debated among style connoisseur for years. They argued whether the staple summer footwear piece should only be reserved for the beach or treated as any other shoe and worn anywhere you please.
I admit that I took part in that argument. But, I argued against them entirely. To me sandals were “dad shoes;” the equivalent to “mom jeans.” However, that was my younger self and as we currently see, a lot of the things that we thought were “old” back then, are now pretty cool–blame it on the bi-polar collective that is society.
Sandals add a casual-cool factor that sets you apart from the crowd. Not to mentioned, they are very transitional. So, you can literally wear them from the boardwalk to a rooftop soirée. However, it is important to understand that there are levels to the sandal game. You can’t just wear any sandal. Well you can, but that would not be wise.
Make sure that the sandals you choose have a slim silhouette, stay away from those bulky fisherman sandals. It’s 2015, so get with the times and modernize your footwear. Trust me, it’ll be worth it.
